From networking, to speaking engagements, and of course a few boozy celebrations, this has been a crazy week in the life of Babes & Beignets. We are exhausted to say the least as New Orleans has proved to us, once again, that in this city if you work hard you also get to play hard. Before we go into detox mode again, we want to share with you all the fun activities we were involved with this week.
Networking at Chamber After 5
The New Orleans Chamber of Commerce always hosts fantastic networking events around the city. We love Chamber events, as they are always picking trendy spots to host their events. You also get to meet some of New Orleans’ most successful execs in a more relaxed setting.
This month’s Chamber After 5 took place at Urban South Brewery on Tchoupitoulas. We met fellow NOEW attendees, entrepreneurs from out of town, and recruiters for top companies. These events are definitely a MUST for any young professional in the city who is looking to make connections in the business world.
Speaking at New Orleans Entrepreneur Week
New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW) is one of the most exciting and fun weeks in the NOLA year. The Idea Village puts on this amazing event to celebrate entrepreneurship in the city. This year we hosted a panel on NOEW’s main stage, along with our friends at Probably This & UberEATS, to chat about the ins and outs of influencer marketing.
Not to toot on our own horn, but, we had a fantastic turn out, our audience was amazing and asked us some great questions, and we’re pretty sure we made our momma’s proud 😉
This was such a fantastic opportunity and we’d like to thank NOEW for hosting us, as well as everyone that came out to our panel. It was only great because of YOU, our amazing audience.
In case you missed the panel, NOLA.com streamed it live on Facebook. You can view it here.
PS: Shoutout to all the hustlers we met this week. Y’all are a big reason why this city is evolving and becoming even greater than it already is!
Hanging out at NOLA Drinks
After a quick outfit change, we headed over to WGS0 990 AM’s station to chat with Bryan Dias, Founder & Editor of NOLADrinks. This was our first time ever on the radio as Babes & Beignets, we chatted about tacos, tequila, and shady NOLA bros.
In case you missed our radio debut, you can catch it online here.
Thanks for having us Bryan. We’ll be back very soon.
Judging Margaritas at Top Taco
Our next stop on that warm Thursday afternoon was the inaugural Top Taco festival. We had the honor of being part of the team of judges for the Margaritas category.
While judging the tastiest and most creative margaritas in town, we also sampled some of the best taco creations we’ve ever tasted in New Orleans. Tough job, but someone’s gotta do it!
Top Taco was a blast, you could tell by everyone’s hangover the next day. Till next year, Top Taco 😉
Celebrating an Amazing Week At House of Blues
Although the #StruggleWasReal on the Friday after Top Taco, we already had plans to celebrate this awesome week at the Matisyahu concert at House of Blues.
HOB NOLA is one of our favorite concert venues in New Orleans, the tickets are usually affordable, the drinks aren’t crazy expensive & the venue is so intimate, so you get to see some of your favorite artists up close!
Closing Out The Week At New Orleans Bourbon Festival
Last but not least, we finished off this hectic week at The Sugar Mill for NO Bourbon Fest with Babes contributor, Alyssa.
The first annual Bourbon Festival in New Orleans was such a blast. We sampled some of the best bourbon in the world, snacked on great bites from some of NOLA’s best chefs and restaurants, and learned so much about bourbon, the distilling process and even the proper way to sip on it!
Our favorite thing about this festival was that, even as bourbon amateurs, we were able to mingle and learn from some of the top distillers and people in bourbon. So stay tuned for next year’s NO Bourbon Festival and come learn all about this tasty Southern spirit.
Ahhhh, what a week. We’ll be taking it very easy for the next few days, so don’t call us and tempt us with more food or drinks (…just kidding). Hope y’all are having a fabulous Sunday and you’re fully recharged to tackle on a brand new week!
PS: Have questions on influencer marketing, entrepreneurship, getting involved around NOLA, or maybe you just want to chat about tacos? Shoot us an email!
