This past week, we attended the opening night of the newest Warehouse District hot spot.
Briquette is Chef Robert Vasquez’s (you probably know him from Mandeville’s Opal Basil) latest project. He has also relocated Opal Basil right next door to Briquette.
This upscale, contemporary seafood restaurant is not your ordinary ‘New Orleans food with a modern twist’ spot. Briquette is heavily focused on seafood from the Gulf but with influences from Spanish, Latin and Southwestern cooking.
Here’s what you need to eat at Briquette,
Lobster Tamales With Chorizo
Order From The Grill
Pick your fish, your sauce and your sides. We went for a Halibut with salsa Veracruz and roasted veggies.
Tres Leches Cheesecake
We also heard that the ‘creaux-nut’ is to die for.
PS: Briquette can make a gluten-free version of any dish. #Yas
Happy eating, babes!
Briquette is located at 701 S. Peters St., New Orleans. They are open Sunday through Thursday from 5–10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m.
