Step Inside The Troubador Hotel

Late last year, luxe boutique hotel, The Troubador opened in the CBD.  Last week, they went all out for their Grand Opening party. We’re here to tell you that The Troubadour is here to shake things up and give us a vibrant new hang out spot.

Petit Lion

Beloved Chef Phillip Lopez opened a fabulous casual bistro on the first floor of The Troubador, offering fun twists on traditional French food, plates for sharing and a fantastic bar. Trust us, you’ll want to try all the drinks. We may or may have done just that. Here’s what you need on your next visit to Petit Lion.

A Cocktail Is A Must

Having a cocktail with your meal is a must at Petit Lion (at any place really;)) Pictured here is one of our favoritesL the Juárez: silver tequila, triple sec, green chartreuse, and lime. Honorable mention goes to Petit Lion’s version of the French 75, the Figue 75: cognac, champagne, fig syrup, and lemon.

The Food Before the Food

Begin your meal with our favorite apps to prime your stomach for the main event. The Foie Gras and Crab Stuffed Deviled Eggs will both melt in your mouth. If you have an adventurous palate, go for the Scallop Crudo. PS: The brioche served with the foie gras will blow your mind!

Dinner Goals 🙌🏻🍴 #TGIF

The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but we recommend you go for dinner so you can then check out the rooftop views at Monkey Board post-dining.

Now It’s Time For The Main Courses

Everything on the menu looked fantastic, so we let our server, the fabulous Gene K., recommend some of his favorites. The recommendations were ON POINT. Behold the Fried Chicken with wildflower honey hot sauce, and heirloom pickles; Moules Frites with vadouvan and coconut milk, and of course a side of Pomme Frites. And yes, you might be thinking, “but where’s the famous Petit Lion Burger?” We’re saving that one for our brunch visit.

You Have To Save Room For Dessert!

Matcha Cheesecake with white chocolate ice cream, yuzu curd,  and pecan crumble

Citrus Crema Catalana with bourbon honey sorbet, candied citrus,  and pate de fruit

Yes, we had 3 desserts. No judgment please! They were all fantastic, and if we HAD TO pick one, we’d go with The Yorkie because it’s basically cereal for adults.

Monkey Board Rooftop Bar

After dinner. It’s time to hop on to the elevator and go up to the 17th floor for some more cocktails!

Yes, we’re living the dream here in New Orleans with all of these fabulous rooftop bars popping up all over the city. And we have to say, Monkey Board may just be our favorite.

Grab a vodka soda, or one of their delicious craft cocktails (only $10 each!) and enjoy the fantastic view of Downtown NOLA while listening to a local DJ or even live music (check out their daily schedule on Instagram).

There you have it, Babes. Put on your favorite pair of heels, and head out for a fabulous night in the CBD. Say hello if you see us there. We’ve been going at least once a week as of late 😉
