Valentine’s day is tomorrow, and you know what that means. Yet another excuse to eat as much chocolate and sugar as your body can possibly handle.
We wanted to do something special for the people who have been there for us through lots of tears, the biggest laughs, and everything else life throws at you: our babes!
Nutella is really the way to any basic babe’s heart. These easy-to-make, adorbs nutella hearts also make the perfect treats for your boo, your coworkers and even your fam.
- 1 Box of Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® cereal
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 cups JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows
- 1 package of semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 jar of Nutella
- Valentine’s Day Sprinkles
In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. Add Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated.
Using a buttered spatula, press mixture into 2 parchment paper lined cookie sheets. Make each Rice Krispies layer about an inch. Cool for about 1-2 hours in the fridge.
Take each cooled sheet and spread one with room temperature (softened) Nutella. Bring the other sheet of Rice Krispies on top of the Nutella-spread sheet. Press together to make sure they are stuck. Cool in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
Take the Nutella Rice Krispies out of the fridge and cut using your cookie cutter. You make have to wash the cookie cutter in between cuts, as it’ll start to get sticky.
Prepare the chocolate for dipping:
To melt in a double boiler, place a small amount of water in the bottom pan of a double boiler, the water should not touch the top pot. Place the chocolate or melting chocolate in the top pot and start heating. Stir frequently until chocolate is just melted, turn the heat off. Dip half of the hearts, place in a parchment paper lined sheet and add sprinkles.
Cool until the chocolate is hard. Place each heart in a cellophane bag and use your favorite ribbon to close.
Voilá – they’re ready to be given out to your Babes!
