1. Petit Lion
Inside the Troubadour Hotel, Petite Lion serves modern European cuisine. The atmosphere offers a relaxing yet exciting vibe. The menu has items like smoked trout rillette, moules frites, citrus crema catalana, and my favorite – the fried chicken with wildflower honey hot sauce and heirloom pickles. Hands down the best fried chicken I’ve ever tasted.
Every dish has an impeccable presentation that accompanies it, like caramelized mushrooms served in a mini pan or the ‘Yorkie’, a mint chocolate chip ice cream with cocoa puffs and minted milk that is poured on top. Every dish is absolutely mesmerizing.

Meril is definitely a hotspot in the CBD. Chef Emeril Lagasse’s newest and fourth restaurant in New Orleans showcases some of Lagasse’s favorite dishes. Items like boudin tamales, upside down cornbread, and Spanish style gulf shrimp will excite anyone. Emeril is stepping up his game and even though this restaurant has been open a while, it still makes the list.
A Southeast Asian inspired Southern Cuisine has arrived in the CBD. Located in the Paramount apartment building, this is the sister restaurant of MoPho, the modern Vietnamese restaurant with executive Chef Michael Gulotta. Maypop is the upscale version of MoPho and you can see the sophistication in both the aesthetics of the restaurant and within the fiery menus.
