Tucked inside a renovated double shotgun house, you’ll find the cutest new restaurant on Tchopitoulas: Luvi. Not only will you fall in love with the decor (can we talk about the chairs please – NEED), but you’ll be enamored by Chef Hao Gong’s Chinese and Japanese hybrid dishes.
We visited Luvi last week on a girls date, but we could picture couples of all ages having a romantic dinner sitting at the raw bar or tucked in one of the corners of this gorgeous place. Best part, this restaurant won’t break the bank! All dishes are under $15.
Check out what we ate and drank at Luvi,
Start with Mama’s Dumplings, or end your meal with them. Or maybe get two orders. We’re still daydreaming about these.
Next up we have the Spicy Dan Dan Noodles. Trust us, no matter how hard of a day you’ve had, you’ll get a big smile on your face when you dig into this perfect bowl of noodles.
Of course we had to try items from the raw bar. After all, Chef Hao was a long-time chef at Sake Cafe, one of our favorite sushi places in town. His raw concepts at Luvi are fresh and creative, you’ll have a hard time deciding what items to order.
In Chef Hao’s words, the Snow White will make you feel like a princess and he was so right!
Next up, a million dollar delight: Million Dollar Baby. If spice is your thing, this is a must try for you.
For the adventurous eaters, Chef Hao has something for you too. Try the Monkey Snack for the perfect balance of fresh salmon, spice, and a hint of sweetness.
Don’t forget to try the cocktails while you’re ordering every single item on the menu y’all. You’ll be delighted with the different and fun flavors on the menu.
Is it time to go back to Luvi yet? Just writing this made us hungry again.
