Everything Crawfish We Want To Eat Right Now

It’s impossible to scroll through insta lately without seeing photo after photo of everyone enjoying hot boiled crawfish. It’s fair to say, we now spend about half of our waking hours daydreaming of every form we can eat our favorite crustacean in. Luckily, in the Crescent City, there are more ways than one to dine on crawfish and we’ll be working on checking all these off of our list this crawfish season!

Crawfish Pie

Big Fisherman – 3301 Magazine St. New Orleans, LA 70115

Ever since we tried these savory little pies, there’s no way we can stop by Big Fisherman to pick up fresh seafood without grabbing one or two of these by the register #ImpulseBuy. Sometimes we even stop in while walking down Magazine Street to grab one as a delicious snack.

Crawfish Cheese Fries

Dat Dog – multiple locations

Did someone say cheese fries topped with steaming hot crawfish etouffee? O yes! We are double in. We already have a cheese fry obsession if you haven’t noticed, and these are made even tastier with spicy etouffee. Try the etouffee dog as well if they fries don’t satisfy your crawfish fix.

Crawfish & Goat Cheese Crepe

Muriel’s Jackson Square – 801 Chartres Street New Orleans, LA 70116

This goat cheese filled crepe topped with Louisiana crawfish is a savory melt in your mouth dish made semi-sweet by the goat cheese and the crepe it’s wrapped in. The dish has become a French Quarter Fest signature so don’t forget to grab one this year at the fest! If you miss it, you can still get it year round on Muriel’s menu as an appetizer.

Crawfish Beignets

Katie’s Restaurant – 3701 Iberville Street New Orleans, LA 70119

Did you really think we could write up this list and not include a crawfish beignet? A crawfish beignet is everything that makes a beignet so tasty and more – hot fried dough filled with hot Louisiana crawfish tails, jalapenos, onions, cheddar and mozzarella; and topped with a jalapeno aioli.

Crawfish Mac n’ Cheese

Salon Restaurant by Sucré – 622 Conti Street New Orleans, LA 70130

You may have seen this on one of our babe’s latest round ups of her favorite spots for getting Mac n’ Cheese in town, but we had to include it here as well. There’s really no going wrong with crawfish, carbs & cheese.

Crawfish Bisque

Brigtsen’s – 723 Dante Street New Orleans, LA 70118

This traditional Cajun soup is time-consuming and difficult to make. Only the best chefs like our beloved Frank Brigtsen and a handful of others are willing to take on the challenge for the satisfaction of their guests during crawfish season. Don’t try this at home babes, just head over to Brigtsen’s and you won’t regret eating one of the most flavorful soups you have ever had.

Crawfish Bread

Jazz Fest

We wait ALL year for Jazz Festival to come around, kinda for the music, but mostly for all the food that you can only get at the fest like the #mouthgasm crawfish bread. Filled with cheese and crawfish, this ooey gooey bread is literally haven baked in a crust. We don’t care how hot it is, we will be grabbing one at the fest and taking on in our purses to go!

Lagniappe {crawfish} Pizza

Magazine Pizza, 1068 Magazine Street New Orleans, LA 70130

An unlikely combo, this delicious pizza is topped with mozzarella, Louisiana crawfish, shrimp, jalapeño, onion, corn, spicy white sauce. It tastes like a crawfish boil with an Italian flare. Yum! The photo doesn’t do it justice, but try a slice of this pie for yourself, and you’ll understand why crawdads and pizza have been meant to be all along.

Boiled Crawfish

All over NOLA!

We can’t discount good old-fashioned boiled crawfish. It’s not just the taste, but the tradition of eating crawfish while drinking a cold beer and enjoying friends and family that makes our hearts happy when it’s crawfish season. Check out all the top places to get ’em here.
