There’s always so much to celebrate in Nola! With this year being our city’s tricentennial, there’s even more of a reason to take it all in.
Many of the best restaurants in town offer dinner series throughout the year. This is one of our favorite ways to experience a restaurant as the menus differ from their typical menus, and often times they are breaking out some of the best vinos or spirits that have been sitting around and pouring them with a heavy hand 😉
These dinners are so much fun to treat yourself and a date to especially in the summertime when we are always looking for an excuse to sit indoors for extended period of times. Going by yourself is a great option too, to meet other foodies and awesome people in the city.
Here’s a few dinner series that get our seal of approval this summer.
Tricentennial Dinners at Meril
Chef Emeril’s newest concept, Meril, is hosting three dinners as part of the Tricentennial Celebration of New Orleans. Each dinner celebrates New Orleans through a major culinary influence: Spain (June 7), France (July 12), and Caribbean (August 2).
We attended the first dinner celebrating Spain, and it was such an amazing experience. Every dish was so full of flavor, and the wines paired perfectly, we felt like we had jetted off to Europe for the evening. Plus, there’s never a dull moment at Club Meril!

Arnaud’s 100th Anniversary
Everyone is having birthdays this year! This New Orleans institution is keepin’ themselves young with some of the hottest events to celebrate the big 1-0-0.
On September 21, Germaine’s Champagne Campaign, a Champagne Lunch Celebration of Arnaud’s Daughter, Germaine Cazenave Wells (celebrating 1948-1978). #FridayLunchGoals. This is going to be worth taking a half day away from the office to get drunk on champs with your girls. I mean, why else do we live in New Orleans?
Get your best cocktail attire ready for Arnaud’s Centennial Gala on November 29th. Tickets for this event, celebrating the present and future of Arnaud’s (2009 and beyond), are limited.
Plus, their special table d’hote menu that changes quarterly to commemorate each era of operator/owner (four total). Check out more on their 100th anniversary here.
Galatoire’s Wine Dinners
We know you guys have heard us talk about these before. Galatoire’s and Galatoire’s 33 do a series of summer wine dinners every year, and they are one of the best ways to experience the culinary legend! Each dinner features a different winery with a rep from there to explain all of it’s different flavor profiles, and an extensive menu to accompany the vino 😉
Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Dinner Series
Tales of the cocktail is right around the corner ya’ll, and let’s be honest, we are all anxious to see how it goes this year under new management. Their Spirited Dinner Series each hosted at New Orleans restaurants feature different liquors from around the world. These are a great way to learn more about a particular spirit you may be interested in, or just eat drink & have some fun!
These dinners are the perfect way to treat yo’self, spice up a date night, or even to give as a gift. Happy wining and dining babes!
