Haven’t had enough the past two weekends with White Linen and RDR? Us either. We’re ready for the freakin’ weekend babes!
Here’s what we are looking forward to most this weekend:
Farm to Table Experience
The Farm to Table Experience is the premier annual gathering of locally sourced eats. Beginning on Thursday at the convention center, the tastings, workshops, chef demos and more will last all weekend long.
We’re looking forward to the second year of the Chef’s Taste Challenge on Friday night with 10 chefs from across the country competing to prepare an entree with a selection of fresh ingredients. Think Chopped, but you’re the judge (a.k.a. taste tester). Did we mention there are wine pairings with each tasting babes? More information and tickets here. Stay tuned for our ratings of each dish post-event.
August Adoption Party
Because.. puppies!! Summer is the perfect time to add a pup to your squad babes. We always say, adopt, don’t shop because there are so many lovable pups in need of being dressed up for Mardi Gras by you, and of course your love and compassion.
Head to the August Adoption Party on Saturday at Barcadia hosted by the New Orleans Bulldog Rescue. Even if you don’t find the right guy for you to take home, at least you’ll get to pet some adorable faces and stick around for lunch or an afternoon apéritif.
It’s that time of the year again! Take this weekend to treat yo’ self to that restaurant you’ve been wanting to try, but maybe wasn’t in your budget or you just never got around to it. More than 80 restaurants are offering discounted dining for the entire month of August, such as 2-3 course lunch menus for $20 or less and 3 course dinner menus for $39 and under.
Can’t decide on a treat yo’ self destination? We recommend Brigtsen’s in Riverbend for dinner. Chef Frank’s modern twist on Louisiana classics will never let your tastebuds down, and the intimate cozy setting is perfect for a date night if you don’t feel up to going all out this weekend.
Become a Barista Babe in your own home
Caffeine is a necessity, but there are so many coffee tools these days, sometimes we have trouble telling our french press apart from our device for making cold brew.
Head to one of our fave neighborhood coffee shops, Mojo on Freret, this Sunday for “One Coffee, Four Different Ways.” You’ll leave your babes and bros in awe at your coffee skills the next time they come over demanding an espresso or a latte with extra foam before a night out. Babes tip: the baristas at Mojo (your teachers) are super cute 😉 Stick around and strike up a conversation about coffee beans.
Have a wonderful weekend babes! Let us know if we missed anything in the comments.
