On March 23rd, Top Taco NOLA will bring foodies and philanthropists together at the Riverwalk’s Spanish Plaza to sip and sample Mexican-inspired creations from over forty of New Orleans hottest chefs and mixologists. Each of these will have a chance to be crowned the winners of four categories: Top Creative Taco, Top Traditional Taco, Top Creative Cocktail and Top Traditional Margarita.

If you haven’t bought your tickets, we’re suggesting you do so ASAP. Why you may ask?

The Tacos, of course

The Top Taco menu is still a well kept secret and we’re all so intrigued.

However, with participants such as Johnny Sanchez, Patois, Jacques Imo’s, Lucy’s Retired Surfer Bar, Bourbon House, Juan’s Flying Burrito, Mizado, Blue Oak BBQ, Carreta’s and Superior Grill, we know that these tacos will be some of the best we’ll ever try in the city.

We’ve done some detective work and found out a few of the fun happenings, aside from the tasty tequila creations we’ll be sipping on.

Each tequila brand will have their own tent with unique and fun activities inside. Patrón is bringing Oculus Prime glasses and taking festival guests on a virtual tour of their hacienda in Mexico. Hornitos will have salsa lessons! Tequila House and Ghost Tequila are doing a disco themed tent, they wouldn’t divulge much else 😉 and El Silencio with Johnny Sanchez and Cochon Butcher are doing a Storyville-era themed activity.

It wouldn’t be a NOLA festival without great music, right? Rounding out the evening will be live entertainment from Los Poboycitos and Afro-Cuban jazz and groove band Otra, Have some tequila, go take salsa lessons and then show off your moves by the main stage!
