A fey days ago, we joined some of our favorite New Orleans foodies at Josephine Estelle restaurant inside the Ace Hotel.
Named after each of their daughters, Josephine Estelle is a collaboration between two James Beard Award-nominated chefs, Andy Ticer and Michael Hudman. The cuisine at Josephine Estelle is an unlikely yet fantastic mix between classic Italian recipes and the flavors of the South.
This osteria very much focuses on seasonal ingredients and homemade pastas. Their menu changes with the seasons, and they most recently launched a brand-new Spring menu.
Aside from a new restaurant opening, nothing excites us more than a menu that with new tastes from each season!
So before this fantastic menu changes again, get a reservation at Josephine Estelle and eat ALL of this:
You can’t go wrong with starting with a cheese and charcuterie board. It pairs perfectly with their wonderful wine selection.
If you’re feeling extra hungry, you have to try the porkbelly
Salads & Veggies
We hadn’t eaten a single veggie the entire weekend of Jazz Fest, so some greens were necessary to make us feel better about the huge meal we were about to consume.
Entreés & Pastas
Now for the good part: pasta & seafood! We tried to stay on the lighter side by ordering the Halibut, but the rest of the entrees looked just as amazing.
One of the most difficult decisions of the week: picking a pasta. After much debate, we decided on the Francobolli (fun fact: this word means little stamps in Italian!)
Next time, we’ll be getting the Bucatini with amatriciana, parmesan, chili & garlic, as well as the Canestri with cacio e pepe!
The Sweetest of Endings
You could say the service at the Ace Hotel is unlike any other, because we ordered 2 desserts and our server came out with ALL of the desserts on the menu for us to sample. Diet out the window. 😂😂😂
We wish we could pick out our favorite dessert, but they were all so unique in flavor and texture. That being said, we ended up keeping the Peanut Butter Pie Budino on our side of the table, so that may be our #1. Note: we love rich and very sweet treats.
Another day, another fantastic meal in New Orleans y’all! This is a MUST on our Spring restaurant list.
Josephine Estelle is located on 600 Carondelet Street. They are open all day for breakfast, lunch, dinner and happy hour. To make a reservation visit their website.
