Burlesque Brunch: Legs & Eggs

New Orleans history of burlesque dancing is nothing if not intriguing. Luckily, this sexy art form is still embraced by our city’s special culture.

French Quarter restaurant, SoBou, part of the Commander’s Family of Restaurants, honors this history with a boozy burlesque brunch each Sunday!

This weekend, we headed to the quarter to check it out. The lively jazz band, and talented dancers created a fun and lively environment.

THE COCKTAILS

Of course we started our meal with delicious cocktails – SoBou’s version of traditional NOLA cocktails including a bloody mary and the Stamos Gin Fizz with a greek twist that included greek yogurt, honey and cucumber. Yum!

AMUSE BOUCHE

These adorable mini cones are every babes insta-dream! The combination of basil avocado ice cream, yellowfin tuna and pineapple ceviche in a little ice cream cone is surprisingly delightful and refreshing.

COURSE ONE

Then we moved on to two delicious salads: the Caribbean Style Shrimp Salad (Eat Fit Nola approved) and the Chilton Peach & Duck Pastrimi Salad.

COURSE TWO

We had to try the Legs & Eggs: crispy fried softshell blue crab with poached hen’s egg mascarpone & thyme yellow stone ground grits with a Crystal hot sauce hollandaise.

The Geaux Fish a la Plancha with lemon basil and Champagne poached crab meat, wilted spinach and smoked heirloom tomato butter was a delicious summer dish.

THE GRAND FINALE

We can never resist sweets! The White Chocolate Bread Pudding served with house made vanilla ice cream was served warm and was melt in your mouth. The Chocolate – Cake & I Scream was made with New Orleans Ice Cream Co’s Praline Crunch, German chocolate cake and Pecan coconut caramel, deliciously layered in a cup.

The brunch menu comes with three courses, not to mention free entertainment! We had such a good time, and would recommend Legs & Eggs to any babe looking for a tasty Sunday Funday.
